Te Awamutu Museum provides a variety of educational experiences at a variety of locations across the Waipa District. Our educational offering caters for school aged students, and is funded by the Ministry of Education and the Waipa District Council.
Wetlands - Waikato's kidneys
Take a trip to Lake Rotopiko, New Zealands National Wetland Centre land and an important habitat for native wetland plants and birds. Students learn about the biodiversity of the wetland, go pond-dipping to discover the underwater species, and get behind a pair of binoculars to check out the huge variety of bird life.
